Top 5 Things to do with Kids in the Hamptons Area
/Beach Days are the best days!! Here are some of my favorites… Plus I have a few other really fun experiences for the most active of families!

Main Beach-
Main beach is a great beach for first-time visitors to the Hamptons. It is great for kids with
clear water, white sand, and plenty of room to distance yourself from other parties. There are
lifeguards available as well as clean restrooms nearby, making it extra family-friendly. There
is a snack bar along the beach as well as other food options close by along the boardwalk
for those who want to just admire the view rather than explore the beach. There is public
parking for $30 or free shuttles from Easthampton town!
Coopers Beach-
Coopers Beach is a breathtaking beach with wonderful views of historical properties. The
beach is not too crowded and very pristine. The water is clean as well, with no seaweed
making it extra blue! This is a great day trip with the beautiful views and reasonable prices
for the charming area! You can rent chairs and umbrellas, there are often sand castle
competitions, live music, and a great beach break for body surfing and boogie boarding for
the kids!!
Ditch Plains-
Ditch Plains is located on Montauk Peninsula. The current “best-known” for being great for
surfing and body surfing. Because of this, there are many surf schools nearby, making it
perfect for new surfers and kids. This would be a great spot to bring your teens that like to
stay entertained. There are beautiful landscapes and the beach has many shells and unique
rocks that kids will love to explore. Be aware that due to the beach being so large, only
certain zones have lifeguards. There are many shops around as well as food trucks. Outdoor
showers and restrooms make the experience more convenient.
2. Splish Splash Waterpark
Splish Splash is a fun water park that is perfect for a hot summer day! The park is clean with
a great staff and beautiful scenery inside the park. There are many food options including a
Johnny Rockets, but this is just the beginning of the fun. Splish Splash has a wide variety of
attractions to satisfy younger and older kids. They have thrilling water rides as well as a
kiddie section with smaller pools and slides. There are many fun pools including a lazy river
and wave pool for chiling and relaxing. The park is practical as well, including lockers and
parking that is only $15.
3. Long Island Aquarium
Long Island Aquarium can make for both a fun and educational afternoon for your kids. It is
found on a beautiful location right along the water. The aquarium consists of many displays
including one of the largest all coral reef displays and a 120,000 gallon shark tank. The
aquarium consists of both indoor and outdoor exhibits that include penguins, butterflies,
bugs, and birds. There are many opportunities for activities aside from just walking through
exhibits. Hangout with penguins, watch sea lion shows, visit touching tanks, snorkel, and if
you are brave enough, swim with sharks.
4. Montauk Point Lighthouse
Montauk Point Lighthouse offers so much more than a beautiful lighthouse! It is the oldest
Lighthouse in New York State and offers a museum, gift shop, and tours to make for a fun
afternoon! It is both alluring and historic. It is a very affordable admission, which is great for
big families. If you are feeling a workout, you can even climb the 100+ steps to the top where
the view is endless. There are beach front activities as well, making the location perfect. You
can definitely fill a day taking in scenic views and exploring.
5. Children’s Museum of The East End
The Children’s Museum has many attractions to keep a family busy and is a great break
from the heat or a perfect rainy day activity! There are many stations that are interactive for
kids to play and learn. They can dress up, play games, and more! These include attractions
like an art room, library, store, pirate ship, and more. There is also an outdoor playground if
you want to take a moment in the sun! It is affordable and hours of entertainment, making it
a must to keep your kiddos amused.
