Basically What I'll Be Wearing all Summer
/So, Summer is almost here! And for many of us it’s already starting to feel like it! Finally… Am I right? I couldn’t be more excited about all the Summer Fashion I am going to be wearing. Here is what you’ll be seeing me in all season:
WHITE- I am currently obsessed with all things white.. white on white on white! I just love it. Don’t get me wrong I am a New Yorker so of course my go to is always black, but for now I just need a break from black. And white it is! Try white denim jeans with a white tee and white linen jacket! Add neutral accessories and you’ll be a showstopper this summer!
LARGE HAT- Ok, so this may be a bit extreme but you get my point! I love a great hat and the trend this summer is the bigger the better! This past year has been a little of a wakeup call for me since I am getting older and need to protect my skin better so I have been wearing a lot of hats! I also love wearing hats because they help block the glare without having to have on sunglasses all day which give me a headache. So the large hat trend is perfect for me this summer!
TIE DYE- I have always been a fan of tie-dye. My kids and I do it every summer. But this summer it’s totally on trend and not just for the kids! I love this rainbow vibrant tie-dye but If you can’t pull this off, try the trend in a more understated way like pale sherbet tones or monochromatic.
SHELLS- I love these shells and the trend is popping up everywhere. I love this look as a choker, bracelet and even anklet. They just give off such a fun easy summer vibe that I am totally into this season!
LILAC- One of my personal favorite colors. I just think it looks great on everyone especially blondes. It always makes me feel so pretty and feminine. Try this look with accessories if it’s too much for an all over look for you. I really think this will look great in a swimsuit and beach towel combo! Plus I just love it for a Summer wedding attire.
Fall Fashion Trends - My Must Haves!

Every wardrobe needs a seasonal refresh... I tend to wear the same things throughout the season and love when the seasons change and I get to mix it up! Plus, who doesn’t love shopping!! Here are the Must Have items I’ll be adding to my fall wardrobe.
Statement Boot- I just love having something I can put on with almost any outfit that really makes a POP. That is why I love this trend. There are so many amazing boots out there for everyone’s style. Incorporate your favorite fall boot to update your existing wardrobe!
All Things Glitter- Glitter has been a trend for a while but it is not going anywhere especially with the holidays right around the corner. Invest in something that is versatile and can be warn numerous times throughout the season and into the winter. A great glitter skirt or even a boot or jacket will leave you right on trend!
Sleek And Sexy- Less is more with this trend. Having the right silhouette is key here. Details are in the fabrics and cuts. Go for something that is elegant and makes you feel your best! Pair this with other trends this season for a killer look!
Plaid- Such a perfect season to wear this trend. From the pumpkin patch to Thanksgiving dinner and even cozying up next to the fire, plaid is a staple this season. I love mixing trends and this one is one of the best to incorporate into what you already own plus a statement boot will be totally killer this Fall!
Oversized- I can’t get enough of the oversized sleeve and shoulders on many of the sweaters and jackets out this seasons. It is one of the most fun trends and will amp up your fashion game for sure. Just don’t do it all over and my recommendation is to pick a sleek counterpart to even out this look.
Prairie- Such a huge trend this summer but it’s not totally forgotten and if I can get some more use out of some of my favorite summer pieces than I am all for it! Try that cute prairie dress or skirt with a perfect fall sweater or jacket. I also love mixing the pairie skirts with boots for fall. One of my favorite looks and so easy to wear.
Floral- Florals were all over the Fall runway and I love the mix of the feminine floral with the sophisticated darker color stories. To decide if your floral is on trend, a few things to keep in mind are to steer away from summery bold pastel or lightly colored florals. Stick with a darker background with a muted pattern. This trend works perfectly with a sleek blazer and statement boot.
Neons- Although a bit tricky to wear, I have seen this trend all over NYC and have become a fan. I love the small pop of color but make sure to pair this with muted, simple and sleek pieces. If you really want to make a statement pair a neon turtleneck with a modern plaid and you will be a fall fashion favorite.
80’s- Seeing as neon is back instyle, I am not surprised that the 80’s are back. I like to this of this as more or the late 80’s and early 90’s as opposed to just saying the 80’s. The early 80’s is not what I am referring to here. Think Julia Roberts Rolling Stones Cover in 1990. It’s all about the demin and leather jackets. Oh, and those “belt bags” that we all still call fanny packs!

If you haven't heard about Cabi yet, don't worry!! I will get you up to speed! Cabi is fashion brand that focuses on building relationships and connections. As we sipped the signature "Full House" rose colored cocktails and sampled the most decadent sweets, the Fall Fashion Show was being broadcasted throughout the room. All the attendees had a front row seat to view the new looks on the runway and also some behind the scenes from the show. I loved seeing how they paired all the different pieces from the line and styled them to help provide inspirational looks for their customers. There was even a section of the show where the founder herself, Kimberly Inskeep, gave us a motivational speech which really struck me. Can we all say #GIRLPOWER!!!!!

Spring to Summer Style...
/YAY! Summer is here and we are all loving the warmer temps... I know I am!
There are so many things I'll be looking to get to amp up my summer style and keep me cool this summer. But there are tons of items already in my closet from Spring that I"ll be rocking all Summer long. And I see these pieces lasting all the way through the Fall season. These trends are here to stay, well at least another few months. So keep them out and get them to good use.
Stripes - This trend is also very figure flattering and looks great on all the new swim this season. I love this suit by Gap and have a few swimwear pieces from Solids &. Stripes that are my go to swimsuits when hitting the beach or water park with the kids. Stripes are everywhere, from swim to tee's to dresses to skirts. I love mixing solids with stripes and even patterns. Have fun with this trend this summer!
Denim with embellishments - Denim jacket are the perfect seasonal accessory because they are so functional in the changing temps. But they are also super stylish and we've all seen the trend evolve from over embellished with patches to painted on designs but what I am gravitating toward the most these days are the simple yet supers chic broach and pin embellished jackets. I recently bought a Chanel Logo pin and will match that with other pins that I have collected to create my own understated look this season!
Off the Shoulder - This super sexy trend is definitely one I love. It just accentuates your neck and shoulders and is very easy to wear. I love this dress by Love Shack Fancy but this trend works great on shirts and I've seen so many ruffled off the shoulder shirts that I will lusting after this season. And I know they will last me into Fall especially the ones with a longer sleeve.
Sequins - Sequins were are over the runway and I just love that designer are making this trend translate into daywear! I love this skirt by Top Shop and the rainbow stripe look. I can see myself wearing this with a simple tank and flat sandal for a stylish daytime look but can also be worn for those amazing long summer nights paired with a strappy heel sexy off the shoulder top.
The White Sneaker (One of my favorite trends) - I would have never thought I'd wear a white leather sneaker and even pair it with a cute summer dress but it actually has become one of my favorite new trends. It had staying power and I love this one by Gucci with the subtle logo stripe. I wear mine with cute racer stripe leggings for a sporty look but also wear them with all my favorite dresses! What a great and comfortable alternative to heels or sandals!
Bold/Colorful Prints - Color is a must in the summer and although I don't wear it all the time, I just love having a bold bright color or print to throw on to make me feel pretty and joyful. This trend is the perfect match with the summer sunshine! Plus it's great from day to night. Something worth keeping around for when you need that POP!
White Booties - It took me a season to warm up to this trend but I really see it lasting for a while. I know it's a trend and it will not be around forever but I do see it lasting into fall. I also just love it with a beautiful spring/summer floral dress. It probably one of my favorite ways to wear my white boots by DVF. It also pairs well with denim and every stylista should have a pair in her closet!
Statement Tee Shirt - Whether it's a large logo tee or a fun graphic tee, this trend is here to stay. So keep all your comfy t-shirts ready this summer. Pair it with fun denim or dress it up with a sequin skirt. This look is versatile and can be worn many different ways. Even under your favorite spaghetti strap dress for that 90's style look.
Long Sleeve Dress - I obviously love this trend and it's perfect for this time of year when the weather is changing one minute to the next. The long sleeve offers the perfect amount of coverage when it's a bit chilly but this can be worn all season long. Pairs perfectly with a nice flat sandal, a bootie or even a stacked heel sandal. I also wear this look often with a thigh high boot which is perfect leading into Fall.

- Sharp scissors that will cut fabric
- Seam ripper or pointy scissors (like nail scissors)
- Iron
Here are the steps you will take:
- Rip the hem seam open with the seam ripper or nail scissors
- Iron the hem flat. If the hem doesn't lay flat, you can try dampening the hem and then iron.
- Using your sharp/fabric scissors cut the front of the hem about an inch up along the side-seams. Make sure you leave the back of the pants longer.
- Fray the cut edges to create the look we are all lusting over right now!
- Then, add holes or distressing to the pant legs as desired. (My jeans already had some holes & distressing but I cut open one of the holes and made it much bigger to emulate the look of the jeans I wanted!)
- Tip - YOU CAN ALWAYS ADD MORE HOLES BUT YOU CAN NEVER TAKE AWAY HOLES. So keep trying the jeans on and making sure you like what you are doing before you do it. But let loose and have fun! Remember, you never wore these jeans anyway, they've been just sitting in your closet collecting dust.
- Finally, WASH the jeans. This will help make all the edges look more worn and help them fray more.
For the shirt, I used an old white tee shirt I bought for the summer but it wasn't the best fit and I rarely wore it. I've been lusting after the distressed white tee for a while now. I have one that I wear to workout but it's a little dingy looking now and I didn't want to invest in a new one.
So take your seam ripper and scissors and get to work!
- First, start with distressing the seams & hems of the sleeves and bottom of the tee. Cut small slits in them and small holes.
- Then take your seam ripper or nail scissors and create holes along the neckline and above the hem.
- Make small holes with seam ripper or nail scissors on the body of the shirt. Space the holes around unevenly on the front and back of the tee. *You can create the small holes by just pulling up on a couple of thread and cutting them... These aren't large holes; mostly small little nicks and cuts. Make them different sizes to create your desired look.
- Finally, I cut the side-seam to open up the hem of the shirt. I never liked how it sat on my hips so the was my chance to make it what I liked!
- This is something you can wear all season long!!
