Treasure your memories with Jacks Gems! I was so excited to sit down with fellow downtown mom to work one-on-one with Jacqueline to create our beloved book! Look how amazing it came out!

They felt so proud of their work and loved having it so beautifully displayed.

Jaqueline is so talented and has such an artistic touch. Look how many pages of artwork and school papers we sorted through! We joked that most mom's are hoarders because we can’t throw any of our kids artwork out! I am guilty of this. So Jaqueline and I sat down an went through two years of complied work. Yep!! All three kids. I am telling you this was a project I was procrastinating for years! Thankfully Jacks Gems came to the rescue and we are so happy with the results.

1. Tell me about Jacks Gems...

Jack’s Gems are custom & contemporary legacy albums. Each one is an interactive experience connecting the artist and the viewer. A love story, really, that endures. They’re meant to adorn your coffee table and personalize your library. Jack’s Gems are luxury products you never realized how badly you coveted until you ordered one and became obsessed. 

2. How did you come up with this concept? 

I started Jack’s Gems when my eldest was in nursery and we were getting flooded with bags of her creations to take home. This coincided with my getting a divorce so I was extra nostalgic and trying to navigate how to let go of the clutter (those bags, the work done at home, all the memories) and hold on to the moments that matter most. Beautifully. I graduated from Parsons so beauty meets function was and remains my focus. 

3. Do you think other moms have the same problem of keeping every little thing their kids make and have no where to store it?

Yes. Mothers are hoarders by nature. Some do a better job at concealing it, but we all struggle with the prolific piles of 2D/3D artwork, Mother’s Day / Father’s Day / Birthday cards, schoolwork & travel souvenirs made by, and of, our kids. This doesn’t even begin to describe the photographs. Storage dilemmas affect our phones as well! Jack’s Gems solves all these challenges. Beautifully. Because the goal is not to create a juvenile cut-and-paste formulaic keepsake creating more clutter. The goal is to curate a selection of important pieces and design an admirable tome representing the body of work of your child during a specific moment in his or her life. Because time has wings. 

4. How does the process work?

Easy. You can ship me all the work (which happens frequently).  If you live in NY, we meet and I’ll help edit, go over dates & get some other pertinent information. I like to work chronologically. I take the original artwork with me, photograph, do computer edits, layout, and then, return to you your uber chic Jack’s Gems album along with the original work you can now get rid of. It’s been immortalized. 

5. Do I get the originals back? 

Yes. 

6. How long does it take?

Generally speaking, from the time I get all the work, 2-4 weeks. That being said, I’ve had rushed orders turned around in under 2 weeks.  

7. Can I order numerous books? I know Grandparents would love this too...

Of course and many do! The best part is that all duplicates are 30% off and make the ideal gift for the grandparents that cannot get enough, in laws, vacation homes & divorced parents. This means a lot to me because as a divorced mom, I don’t know what my kids have brought to their dad. I sometimes feel like I’m missing out on so much. So Jack’s Gems helps me stay connected.
